What is The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone?

The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension is form of vitamin C which has been shown to brighten complexions and defy multiple signs of skin ageing and the addition of very light silicones in this formulation means that it feels super-smooth on the skin.

This product contains a 30 percent concentration of pure vitamin C, which remains completely stable due to the absence of water. Vitamin C is an effective antioxidant and its pure form of l-ascorbic acid has been shown to improve multiple signs of skin aging while brightening the skin.  Although a strong (but non-irritating) sensation can be expected during the first 1-2 weeks of use until the skin’s tolerance to a high concentration of vitamin C is improved (the formula can be mixed with other creams and serums to reduce this sensation if needed). It is vegan, cruelty-free, and formulated without oil, alcohol, nuts, gluten, and fragrance. Source Sephora and Cult Beauty

Suggested Use

Apply a small amount to face in the AM or the PM. A tingling sensation can be expected after application. If this sensation is too strong, this formula can be diluted on each application with your favourite serum or cream..  I used this product in the evening followed by serums and moisturizer

My verdic

After reading many good reviews about Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 30%, I decided to put it to the test.   I looked for any improvement in sun damage, radiance, and glow. Let’s see if this budget-friendly Vitamin c can be as effective as the more luxury brands?
The key ingredient is L-ascorbic acid. L-ascorbic acid is a potent form of vitamin C with brightening and anti-aging effects.

I started using this product in the morning after cleansing and before moisturizing.  After applying this product to my face it did sting but nothing painful and no redness. This is normal as your skin is adjusting to a new product. Once I applied to my face, I applied my usual other products, but this caused my skin to start pilling.  Not sure if the vitamin C stopped my other products from absorbing due to the thick silicone. So I decided to try applying after my usual products but again had the same piling effect. No matter how I used it in my skincare routine it left a lot of white rubbery residue. It also had a grained horrible feel on my face. In the end, I stopped using it.

I won’t be using this on my face in the future. I am considering trying it for longer on my chest and arms and see if it will improve the sun damage. But that’s as far as I will go with this product.
