We put Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream to the test after reading the some reviews on Amazon. The idea that the Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream would not only fade fine lines but also improve my dark circles within a week was also a major selling point. 

I applied this eye cream every evening after cleansing and before applying my moisturizer. Did I notice an improvement? Not within 7 days as Neutrogena claims, however i did notice an improvement in my fine lines around my eye area after around 2 months.  This cream has no apparent scent, easy application and absorbed well. The box says you may experience mild redness, a warm, tingling sensation or flaking (skin exfoliation). These are normal, temporary indications that the formula is working. I did feel some mild tingling sensation at the start of using this product but no adverse reaction. 

This product is advertised as having Retinol in it.  Lookin at the ingredient list, Retinol is the second to last ingredient listed while the glucose complex (myrtus communis leaf extract) and hyaluronic acid also appear towards the end of the ingredient list. Meaning we can assume that there isn’t much of this ingredient present in the product.   However, retinol is potent and usually doesn’t need to be present in high concentrations to be effective.  According to this blog post most retinoid gels or creams are available in .025 percent, .05 percent, and 0.1 percent concentrations. No matter the potency, it will still deliver results — it just might take longer if you use a weaker concentration. “Even a low grade would be effective, but you have to commit to it.

Although it’s not completely got rid of my fine lines, it definitely helped to smooth them. You do need to be patient with this eye cream and give it a few months. I stopped using this while testing other eye creams (see my Charlotte Tilbury Magic eye Cream Review) I’ve now reintroduced  the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair back in to my skincare routine.
